26GHz smart city network in Poland

26GHz smart city network in Poland
05 December 2017

CBNL won two major awards in November 2017 for its ground-breaking 26GHz smart city project in Rzeszów, Poland.

The project, which is a blueprint for leveraging 5G spectrum, won ‘Best Digital Transformation Project’ at the Global Telecoms Awards and was named a finalist at the European Broadband Awards.

The network connected over 500 Wi-Fi hot spots, 187 schools and city buildings, 1,000 CCTV cameras and an Intelligent Transport System – whilst reducing telecommunication costs for the city by 60%.

The European Commission has just released a video case study of the project as part of its ‘Best Practice’ series which can be viewed below.
