Product Support Engineer

Join our exciting team to solve our customers’ challenging data networking issues, whilst using a VectaStar point to multipoint data network.

CBNL is recruiting for a Product Support Engineer to work in our Cambridge offices with the opportunity for frequent global travel. 

The role is UK office based and full time. 

This role is required to provide technical solutions to CBNL’s customers located worldwide. 

Working with the Customer’s Technical teams as part of CBNL’s Product Support group you will diagnose complex and network performance affecting issues to provide root cause analysis and resolutions in a timely manner.

You will need to gain a deep technical understanding of the CBNL product offering and its’ use within data networks such as Enterprise Access and Mobile Backhaul.

The successful person in this role will enjoy the challenge of solving technically complex problems and working in a team. With product training and experience, there will be a progression and development path within the Product Support Team.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following qualifications and experience, though we may consider an engineering graduate who is willing to learn;

  • Bachelor’s, Masters or Ph.D. and work experience in relevant technical field or demonstrated equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of IP networks
  • Experience of computing technologies
  • Ability to demonstrate good problem solving skills
  • Experience of network design
  • Experience of Linux and/or Windows Operating environments, support and installation

You will be very likely to have most, if not all, of the following personal attributes:

  • A high level of technical aptitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Able to work under pressure, to tight timescales.
  • Able to work on own initiative, knowing when to seek advice.
  • Demonstrates good practical ability. (willing to get hands dirty, when needed)
  • To be a team player
